Final Ship Wreck

I was able to really adjust the settings for the render once I got to school and being able to hike up the settings really gave me a finished product that I am fairly happy with. The tutorial was a pretty big help and with that I finally remembered how to display my models properly and I am excited to do more.

Final Ship Display

I wanted the deserted island feel and I did not do a stand with plaque but I felt like this would make a stronger statement.

Final Ship Model

My ship completely destroyed and without the scene so you can see specific details.

Progression Day#2

Messing with different settings really gotten things how I like them but my laptop is not cooperating with all this processing I had to do the last render in segments but I am definitely appreciating this project.

Rework#2 Progression

I've been destroying my ship all day as per request and so far I'm liking the devastation it's funny how I spend 10 weeks perfecting it to destroy it now. Well this is about all I'm getting to for the night but so far I'm on schedule I'd say.

Wrecking my ship

Going over ideas how to wreck my ship was interesting and as of right now I'm still a little bit torn. I am trying to decide how I wanted my ship beached and the amount of damage done.

Piece #1 Progression Day 2

I been adjusting lights and things trying to find a more dynamic angle. I have a cork texture on the cork and now I'm debating one more thing for the neck of the bottle like a thin ribbon or something. I will toy with it and see.

Project #1 Progress

Getting better renders for this project was actually pretty fun because I honestly didn't have a lot of time to test render my original project. Taking in critiques from my teacher I was to A) take the bottle and make it more rounded, B) put it on a dark mohogany table and C) put a cork in the bottle. So far I've done just about that I still want to play around with a few things. I have the cork but it's not the correct texture I was just playing with it thus far but this is where I am with my project before I go ro bed tonight.

New Bottle and Display Ideas for my ship

While researching a new bottle I noticed that many of the ships are not in ordinary bottles. I can only assume that is because of the shape of the ships themselves and the unique bottles really played up the ship. The one I really liked was the  light bulb up near the top right of the contact sheet. I also enjoy the simple background behind many of the ships because it's there for the details and a busy background can only take away. I like the simple bottled cork idea and perhaps that may be the route I decide to take with the bottle and as for the stand perhaps it could even be simpler. All in all while researching a new bottle I see that the bottle has to accentuate my ship and not just be something randomly housing my ship.

Portfolio Piece Selection

My first piece of work that I was happy with in Maya the idea was for this little android man to wander through this electronic forest into a tablet type thing at the end. I didn't exactly finish all the effects I wanted each of the phone screens was to be on and the lights didn't flicker the way I wanted. I figure this is the first piece of work I regretted not finishing I might as well add it.

Next I chose a dragon I had done as a final project in modeling I that I was fairly happy with at the time and now that I have had modeling II I can see where improvements can be made.

By modeling II I was pretty comfortable with Maya and here I really had fun bringing an entire ship to life. As you can see I did not finish some of the rigging so that can be something to work on as well as maybe a few other asthetics.
Next I chose my texture and lighting final project more or less because I didnt have a bunch of projects to choose from and because of the challenge of the whole thing all together. I genuinely did not have a good time on this project.
Lastly my Game Design Project 01 final.
